How It Started

Why We Created This

We're istvandel Limited, and we've been organizing social dance events for adults 45+ since 2019. It started with a simple observation: there weren't enough genuine, welcoming spaces where mature adults could learn bachata, enjoy salsa meetups, and build real friendships through dance. Most beginner-friendly dance classes felt rushed or impersonal. That bothered us.

So we built something different. We didn't want to create another expensive franchise or corporate dance studio. Instead, we've developed a network of educational resources and regular social gatherings across Dublin, Cork, and beyond. Our approach? Start with the basics, celebrate every milestone, and make sure nobody feels left behind.

What makes us different is that we're not just teaching steps. We're creating communities. You'll find people who've been dancing for years alongside absolute beginners, and somehow it works because we're all here for the same reason — to move, to laugh, and to belong. The music, the rhythm, the shared experience — that's what matters.

Our Method

How We Teach Dance

Every program is built around real adult learners with real lives — because you don't have time for nonsense.

Small Groups Matter

We cap class sizes at 15 people. You'll actually get feedback, individual attention, and space to ask questions without feeling rushed.

Educational Resources

We provide video tutorials, rhythm guides, and movement breakdowns. You're not just learning in class — you've got resources to practice at home.

No Pressure, All Fun

Mistakes happen. We celebrate them because that's where learning actually occurs. You won't feel judged here — promise.

Beyond The Studio

Why People Actually Come Back

Adults enjoying social time at a dance event in Dublin

It's not just the dancing. Sure, you'll improve your bachata basics, nail your salsa timing, and actually understand rhythm. But what really keeps people coming back? The community itself. You'll meet people from different backgrounds, professions, and life experiences. Some folks have been dancing for decades. Others picked it up three months ago. Nobody cares. You're all learning together, which somehow makes it easier.

We've watched friendships form during Cork salsa meetups. We've seen confidence bloom at Dublin bachata nights. We've had people tell us that dancing gave them purpose again. That's what istvandel Limited is really about — creating space where adults 45+ feel welcome, capable, and genuinely part of something.
